Dental Implants

Missing a tooth or teeth doesn’t mean that your only choices are dentures or bridges. You may be able to reclaim your smile with a third option.

Dental implants are a popular and effective way to replace missing teeth and are designed to blend in perfectly with your natural smile. Made of titanium and other materials that are compatible with the human body, dental implants are simply posts that are surgically placed in the upper or lower jaw, where they begin to function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth.

Sunridge Dental is pleased to employ the X-Nav: the only dental navigation system that has a 360°single view of drill position and patient anatomy during surgery. This allows for increased precision when placing dental implants.

Here’s why that matters to you: You’re investing in your smile, and when your dentist is drilling through the gum and into the bone, you want to ensure the most up-to-date technology is being used to place your implant perfectly. This is especially important when placing multiple implants in a row. Imagine investing into a new smile and not having your new teeth line up absolutely perfectly…it’s unacceptable.

The X-Nav assists in the placement of multiple types of implants:

Subperiosteal Implants
Unlike most other formed dental implants, subperiosteal implants are not inserted into the jawbone. Instead, a metal frame is applied over the surface of the jawbone. This frame will secure a supporting post that keeps the dental crown, bridge or denture steady at all times.
Since subperiosteal implants are not actually secured inside the bone, they are a great solution for patients with a jawbone that is unsuitable to accommodate other types of implants. By using subperiosteal implants, a person can receive a high-quality dental restoration without a bone grafting procedure and a potentially lengthy healing period.

Endosteal Implants
Endosteal implants are comprised of a titanium metal foundation that is inserted into the jawbone. It can be used to support a dental crown, bridge or dentures, always keeping them steady and secure. Endosteal implants do a great job of helping a restoration feel more natural.

All-On-Four Implants
Using just four strategically placed implants, all-on-four implants support an entire top or bottom row of replacement teeth. Just like endosteal implants, all-on-four implants are inserted into the jawbone in order to provide exceptional support for replacement teeth. These are considered to be one of the best types of dental implants available today.

With dental implants, missing teeth can’t stop you from achieving the brilliant smile you love to shine!
